Terms and Conditions
A standard volunteer agreement will cover the following essential areas:
Volunteer Status and Relationship
- No employment relationship: The agreement explicitly states that the volunteer is not an employee, agent, or partner of the NPO. This means they are not entitled to a salary, wages, or employee benefits such as unemployment or worker’s compensation (though some jurisdictions may have exceptions for worker’s compensation coverage).
- Voluntary choice: The provision of services is a donation of time and is a matter of free will, which can be terminated by either party at any time without prior notification.
Rights and Responsibilities
- Volunteer responsibilities: Volunteers are expected to perform their role to the best of their ability, follow the NPO’s rules and procedures (including health and safety and equal opportunities policies), maintain confidentiality, and meet agreed-upon time commitments.
- NPO responsibilities: The organization typically agrees to provide necessary induction and training, a clear job description, a named contact person for support.
- Confidentiality: The volunteer agrees to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information regarding the organization, its clients, or other volunteers.
- Intellectual Property & Media: Any work created during volunteering (e.g., photos, software, or reports) belong to the NPO and we ask for consent to use volunteer’s likeness in promotional materials.
Code of conduct
- I will treat everyone that I come in contact with, with respect.
- I will dress appropriately .
- I will refrain from using profanity or take the name of the Lord in vain and behave courtesy at all times.
- I give permission to Seasons Foundation to use photographs or videos of my volunteer activities.
